TOPIC: File availability

File availability 5 years 9 months ago #215

I am running Toorox off of a USB-HDD. All of my partitions and the computer hard drive are mounted on boot. The problem is that a number of programs do not even perceive the existence of these partitions or the hard drive. their existence, though others do. So the problem seems to be one of uneveness. I suspect that some programs rely on one type of file manager while other rely on another type. I am not sure how to test this hypothesis much less fix the glitch. Dolphin works perfectly and it is the default file manager. In Firefox and OO I cannot pull up files directly from the partitions or the hard drive. Any suggestions?

I found the answer. I was looking in the wrong root file. In Sidux, Suse and Ubuntu based distros I had always found the partitions and hdd in the /media folder. Here it appears to be in the /mnt folder.

Thanks
