TOPIC: Full update of the operating system

Full update of the operating system 1 year 7 months ago #1731

I am a newbie and I would like to install Toorox KDE. After the installation, I want to update the entire operating system (kernel, libraries, compilers and all the applications). As I have understood, I must type in the Terminal this command first:
emerge --oneshot portage

Then I have to open Porthole, and click first on Sync and then on Upgrade. Is this correct?

P.S.
How much time requires (approximately) a complete update?

Thanks in advance.

hi multiplicis,
nice to meet you!
to make a complete system update is difficult, because the distro is 3 month old!
It is a big size of update packages, and the download can take a cuple of hourse!!
And it is more too do as click in porthole on sync.
The best choise is, to wait of a new version of toorox kde.
when the distro is online , install and make your update.
a mini size update :)
kind regards
fynn
