Hi n
I have downloaded Toorox 2012 Gnome and it looks great. I need to install it on my second computer which does not have a DVD drive, and have tried installing it to a USB pendrive via the USB desktop installer, but when I try to boot into it , I get a System Missing error. Unetbootin does not work either . I would appreciate any help.
Thanks
frannke

Hi Frannkke,

try it again or do you have another pendrive?

Hi Joem,
yes I tried several different pendrives, same problem. I am downloading iso again from Toorox site instead of Distrowatch now, to see if that works. I did not have this problem with 2011 KDE version. However, I am not a fan of KDE, I prefer Gnome or Openbox.
thanks frannkke.

Hi Frannkke,

Try ImageWriter instead of Unetbootin. It works for me.

I have never succeeded in installing Toorox to a USB drive. The utilities I use do not have any problems with any other distros' ISO except this one. The problem is that these utilities rely on extracting the contents ISO and for some reason, Toorox ISOs cannot be extracted - just try opening any other ISO in winzip or powerarchiver and it behaves like a ZIP archive. The Toorox ISOs behave as if they are corrupt. They are NOT, but they are the only ISOs that I have come across with this behaviour and are the only distros that I have to burn to disk to use.
