Description: Full sources including the Gentoo patchset for the 3.2 kernel tree
So i take it that looks correct? It is saying 3.2.9 is installed.
Step 7.
backup old kernel
mv /boot/vmlinuz /boot/vmlinuz.old
The Result Step 7.
a. linux # mv /boot/vmlinuz/boot/vmlinuz.old
mv: missing destination file operand after `/boot/vmlinuz/boot/vmlinuz.old'
Try `mv --help' for more information.
b. linux # cp arch/i386/boot/bzimage/boot/vmlinuz
cp: missing destination file operand after `arch/i386/boot/bzimage/boot/vmlinuz'
Try `cp --help' for more information.
None the less i continued and rebooted to a desktop, all appears ok, That was good of you to show me how to do that, thank you.
Out of curiosity, since i am booting from ubuntu grub, i have now 'update-grub', in doing so would it boot from the gentoo 3.2.6 kernel? what code to show the active kernel?
Regards, Steve
