Okay, then the other way:
1. Start Toorox (default)
2. You see INIT is starting
3. When you see "Press I to enter interactive boot mode" and your keyboard is connected via PS/2, press "I" now. If your keyboard is connected via USB, hit the "I" key after the "Waiting for uevents to be processed" task has finished.
Now before the system is starting a new service, it will ask you what to do 1),2),3),4).
Press "1" till you see the "About to start the service xdm" then press "2" to skip that service. Next press "1" again.
Now you should see the login:
After you have modified xorg.conf (changing the Driver line), type in:
>/etc/init.d/xdm start
