So the only thing stopping me from using this OS is the fact that when I boot, I still have the blank screen.

I know that the FAQ says that I should press tab and change the vga=normal, then hit return and then press b, but that still does not seem to work. Any ideas? when I boot the Gentoo live cd it does it well. Am I missing something?

Hi pookito,

try "nomodeset" instead of "vga=normal"
The administrator has disabled public write access.
